Welcome Home Bag

Our mission provides a Welcome Home bag containing various essential supplies which may include poop bags, dog shampoo, ear cleaner, and eye drops to help ease the transition into their new home, particularly considering potential age-related needs of the senior dog.

Cost

It's important to consider the potential for unexpected costs and financial problems, especially veterinary care for accidents or illness. Comprehensive medical care including regular check-ups, bloodwork, medicine, vaccinations and for any necessary treatments.

Important to consider their specific needs and provide a safe and comfortable environment.  Taking into account the dog's age, health and any special requirements they may have.  For example, you can add an orthopedic dog bed, ramps, toe-grips, and a night light.

No matter how nice you make a crate, its a crate.  Any dog who is crated every day comes to hate his crate.  A fenced yard is required where your dog can go potty when you are not up to walking him.

Nutrition While At The Ranch

Our mission does not serve dog food at the ranch.  The dogs are fed homemade meals twice a day, breakfast and late lunch.  We may put dry kibble down in the evenings for a snack.

By approved adopters only.  We allow up to 7 days to arrange for pickup.  South Florida airports are listed on the website.

Out of Country Adoption

Effective immediately no out-of-country adoptions will be processed. This policy is final, and no exceptions or requests will be honored.

Transport Fee

Yes, there is a $250.00 transport fee for deliveries along I95 to Alexandria, Virginia.  This schedule varies (*confirm once approved for adoption)  Adopter must be available to meet our transport.

Pets are not disposable

In times of evacuation, it’s crucial to take your pet with you rather than leaving them behind, as they depend on you for safety and care.

Similarly, when moving to a new home, bringing your pet along helps them adjust to change and remain part of your family unit.

Even with the arrival of a new baby, it’s essential to maintain your bond with your pet, ensuring they feel loved and secure during this transition.

Adoption Requirements

To be considered for adoption, applicants must be able to demonstrate responsible current or past pet ownership and a commitment to providing lifelong care.

Applicants must also be prepared for the financial and emotional responsibility of caring for a dog, including the possibility of ongoing medical needs. Many of our dogs are seniors and may require medications, follow-up care, or additional support as they age.

Cancellations, no-shows, changed your mind, will not be considered for future adoption.
