Luna is a sweet 5–6 year old Pomeranian/Chihuahua who came to our sanctuary after we found her in the shelter desperately needing medical care.
We quickly learned that Luna's situation was much more serious than we initially realized. She had bilateral hernias, with her intestines trapped inside both hernias. She needed emergency surgery to repair them before they became even more dangerous.
We knew Luna deserved a chance, so we said yes.
Luna underwent emergency surgery to repair both hernias with mesh, and she was spayed while she was under anesthesia. She still needs additional care afterward, including bloodwork, a dental, and continued monitoring as she recovered.
Thankfully, Luna is now safe with us and no longer has to wonder what is going to happen to her next.
At only 5–6 years old, Luna has so much life ahead of her. Our hope is that she gets to spend all of it knowing what it feels like to be loved, safe, and cared for❤️
