At 13 years old, Yorky was abandoned at a shelter alongside her best friend, Winny. The two senior girls arrived together in a TJ Maxx shopping bag, frightened and confused after everything they had known was suddenly taken away.
They were extremely bonded, and we knew they needed to stay together.
After coming to our sanctuary, Yorky received the extensive medical care she needed, including treatment for severe infections in both eyes, bilateral cherry eye, ear infections, a serious skin infection, and significant dental disease.
After everything she had been through, seeing Yorky running around our sanctuary today is incredibly special🥹
She is finally safe. She has soft beds, warm blankets, plenty of treats, and the freedom to simply be a dog. And she still has her best friend, Winny, right beside her.
Yorky's story is a reminder that senior dogs deserve just as much of a chance at happiness as anyone else. We are so grateful we were able to say yes to these two girls and give them the safe place they deserve💗
